Currently Chief Executive and Scientific Director of UFAW and the HSA, and Editor of the Journal Animal Welfare. Provided expert advice in the development of UK and European legislation. Previously chaired MoD Animal Welfare Advisory Committee. Previous member of the Animal Procedures Committee (chair of Housing and Husbandry Sub-Committee, member of Primates Sub-Committee and Applications sub- Committee).
