Vernon Heng

Vernon Heng is the Sales Director for Asia at Smart Packaging Solutions (SPS). Based in SPS Singapore, he is responsible for all sales and marketing activities in the Asian region, including the handling of all distributors and agents of SPS. Previously, Vernon was Senior Director for AdvanIDe (Advanced ID Electronics), serving various customers in the Asia Pacific region. He was also AdvanIDe’s Line Manager for NXP and Infineon, supporting their chip card and RFID products in the region. Vernon has over 20 years’ experience in the contact and contactless smart card industry, including over 10 years of involvement in the RFID industry. With AdvanIDe, Vernon was involved with a major National ID and Driving License project in South-east Asia plus various Transport, Banking and ID/Access Control projects in the region. Prior to AdvanIDe, he was the Regional Sales Manager for Gemalto (formerly Gemplus) and was involved in numerous key projects in the telecoms, banking and ID segments for the company. He also handled the first implementations of the smart card in the Philippines with the Bankard electronic cash card, the Rustan’s loyalty card and the PLDT and BayanTel smart phonecards. Vernon holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Adelaide in Australia.
